so I am geared up for the Atlanta set starting tonight at the 7 Stages Theatre tonight.. i got set up and soundchecked last night and i gotta say, this little venue is gonna be SWEET. it’s a very intimate seated theatre for a very intimate seated kinda show… hell, even I will be sittin’ and singin’. the approach to these shows is subtle so don’t scare me by yelling at me to play the very first song i ever wrote, while i am singing another. i get nervouse (that means i get Englishly nervous) and forget the words to what i am singing. you now the signs at the zoo that say “please do not tap on the glass. it frightens the monkey”. Atlanta, meet “monkey”….

tonight’s show has already been pretty much picked by requests from Twitter so it isn’t really a “Live Request” kinda thing. i don’t want you to be upset if i don’t have a lyric sheet prepared for a song i don’t even remember how to strum the first chord to. i just come off as unprofessional and… well… lame. who knows… i may be able to stumble through half of a ditty or two though! ;-)

also, i have been asked that you turn off your cell phones because that funky little sound that kinda sounds like the intro drum machine to “Poison” by Bell Biv Devoe (now ya know…) starts blaring through my stage monitors and amps when you are twittering everyone about how i have a mustache, and it really fucks my  rhythm up. these shows are gonna be fun, but make it fun for others and don’t talk or be an asshole while i am kicking out a slow jam. i can hear you and it makes me start listening to your conversation and not the lyrics from a song from 1894 that i am supposed to have memorized.  it makes me look like a pretentious dick when i stop and complain, so save me the wind. ;-)

all this said, let’s have a blast. when i get rowdy, you get rowdy… when i cry, you cry….. kidding.
