Most importantly, this woman. When Todd and I went to the Harley museum today to get the tour (thanks to my pal Jeff Wick at HD), I was greeted by this lady, Kim. She said, “I know who you are. And you might know me..” Turns out, she is the mother of a girl named Zepelin, who was one of my biggest and only fans way back in the 90’s when my old band The Floyds would tour America 200 days a year (in a beat up van). She would come to our shows any time we played up here in the area, and bring her mom (Kim). We were poor and scraping by as a band and would stay and sleep wherever we could find shelter from the van. Thy cooked for us, let us all crash at their house, and made us feel welcome and family. I hadn’t seen or heard of/from them for many many years, so imagine my surprise when she walks up to be our tour guide (she’s an archivist at Harley Davidson). This world is beautiful and I’m grateful that I have loved and lived a life of touring, exploring, broadening my mind and my horizons by turning strangers into friends, new towns into recurring show stops, and mostly, embracing the weird. This is all I could ask for in life. To never get bored with it and constantly be inspired and reminded of how cool traveling through life is.

Here are the lyrics to “Chrissie Hynde”

Look at you standing there
high as hell, on the roof
wind blowing hair into your mouth
and no shoes on your toes
Look at me sitting here
grin all on my face
That time will soon erase
When they tell me time to go

All I got right now
Is all I want
Chrissie Hynde singing through
a blown dash speaker
About Ohio
all she wants right now
is to be the way it was
the same as when you and me were one

Maybe 10 years or so
i’ll make a better road
find who you really know
behind these bloody eyes
and you’ll be the queen of this town
maybe meet another fool
send kids off to school
too late for me to try but…

All I got right now
Is all I want
Chrissie Hynde singing through
a blown dash speaker
About Ohio
all she wants right now
is to be the way it was
the same as when you and me were one

Just in case you wanted a Soundcloud link to “Chrissie Hynde” it’s right here http://bit.ly/1trThdP
It’s a little love story about a guy who has to go serve a long sentence in prison, and say goodbye for now to his family. So he savors every moment of the last few hours of freedom he has..

I’m thinking today is a day for new beginnings. Coming to terms with the past and living for the future. Letting go of then, and holding onto now. I’m really really proud of this one. Spent a year writing it. And 4 days recording it (exactly one year after the passing of my Father, Big Butch). My buddy Ryan Adams produced it at his Pax Am studios and we had some of our buddies come lend some vocal and instrumental love as well (Johnny Depp, Mike Viola, Bob Mould, and others). All live. All to an old tape machine. No computers. No fixes. Just music. I think I like this one a lot. Here’s to coming to terms with your ghosts, taking what scares you the most.. And turning it into something real. So I’m welcoming to the world, a new album called Afraid of Ghosts…. 1. Afraid Of Ghosts 2. I Love You 3. Chrissie Hynde 4. Still Drunk 5. How Are Things, Love 6. Bed On Fire 7. 21+ 8. Autumn Leaves 9. Father’s Day 10. The DarkAfraid of Ghosts comes out on February 3rd on Dangerbird Records in the US and Lojinx in the UK/Europe. More songs will be released periodically (so you don’t have to wait until February for it all), and I’ll also be playing a handful of these songs out on the Ryan dates. For now, you can pre-order the album on iTunes for $7.99 and get an instant download of “Chrissie Hynde.” UK/Euro iTunes pre-order will be available tomorrow.
Vinyl and CD bundles are available through my webstore. UK/Europe you can order the CD + vinyl through the Lojinx store.  See you soon. Butch
