This is the road. The most beautiful Autumn day in the countryside of Kansas and Missouri. Thanks to a hookup by our good friend, Traci Wilde of Nashville radio station Lightning100, I was able to commandeer a killer Exile custom bobber (I had one of these bikes back a few years ago that I lost in a fire. Missed it) belonging to my brother from another motor @johnnydarepic (@johnnydare on Twitter). We all rode our butts off today, and took in the transition of the leaves and random speakeasy pubs in the middle of nowhere. Thanks again, Johnny, for the hospitality. #brotherfromanothermotor
very cool to see all the love for the first song, “Chrissie Hynde”, off of the new record. next up, is the Title track to “Afraid Of Ghosts”.. this is the first song we recorded in Ryan’s studio for the new album, and it set the tone for the whole record i believe. it’s premiering here on Esquire, and if you go to iTunes and preorder the new record, you will be able to get this song as an instant grat track tonight (CD/vinyl bundles also available here). take a listen… i am proud of it…
Gettin ready to do it.
Dave for president.
@timvirginstagram hooked it up today for @toddstopera and myself for some 2 wheel therapy in chicago. Thanks for the Harleys! Brother from another motor.
Backstage, getting some good Kenny Rogers feels at the Chicago Theatre. Can’t wait to play for you tonight, loves!
@frankturner and I decided to get weird at the Frightened Rabbit’s show.
I can’t tell ya how much this guy inspires me on a nightly basis. I’ve been doing it arguably longer and touring for 25 yrs or so, but this guy takes me to church, a comedy club, and the only Grateful Dead concert I would ever want to attend. All in one night. Thanks @theryanadams because not that many artists love music like the way you do.
Most importantly, this woman. When Todd and I went to the Harley museum today to get the tour (thanks to my pal Jeff Wick at HD), I was greeted by this lady, Kim. She said, “I know who you are. And you might know me..” Turns out, she is the mother of a girl named Zepelin, who was one of my biggest and only fans way back in the 90’s when my old band The Floyds would tour America 200 days a year (in a beat up van). She would come to our shows any time we played up here in the area, and bring her mom (Kim). We were poor and scraping by as a band and would stay and sleep wherever we could find shelter from the van. Thy cooked for us, let us all crash at their house, and made us feel welcome and family. I hadn’t seen or heard of/from them for many many years, so imagine my surprise when she walks up to be our tour guide (she’s an archivist at Harley Davidson). This world is beautiful and I’m grateful that I have loved and lived a life of touring, exploring, broadening my mind and my horizons by turning strangers into friends, new towns into recurring show stops, and mostly, embracing the weird. This is all I could ask for in life. To never get bored with it and constantly be inspired and reminded of how cool traveling through life is.
Hello Milwaukee. This day is about to get AWESOMER. At the @hdmuseum for the big tour! #harleydavidson
